Hello, today I am going to talk to you about a controversial topic, changes to my study program. Currently I think that the Chilean university education system is very long, I mean that to graduate from a career on average it takes you 5-6 years. I feel that with the tools and accessibility to knowledge allow to cut these times. It could be 3 years to get your degree and then 2 years to do a postgraduate or master's degree. Now talking specifically about my career, design at the university of chile, I think the 5 years of studies are unnecessary. Otherwise it is not cheap to study in Chile. I think that the career has several subjects that could be compressed and simply eliminated. Such as introduction to research, project management, the unnecessary amount of 3 history subjects that could be compressed into 2, the unnecessary division of mathematics with physics. The truth is that the curriculum could be much shorter without reducing efficiency and learning. As for the infrastructure of the university, it is complex to talk about changes, since it is a physical space that is considered historical heritage, so making major changes is complex, but that does not take away the need for good maintenance, since the physical space is neglected. Neglected in the sense of broken bathrooms, classrooms with flimsy and broken chairs, little technology to facilitate the study of students. For this I would advise a renovation of the technologies and materials in question.
